Affordable Scandinavian Dining Room Design

Affordable Scandinavian Dining Room Design

Lately I have been drawn to interiors that are minimal, functional, and more on the neutral side (which is actually shocking since I’m usually the girl who likes a room filled with pops of color). I think a room with less stuff in it allows our mind to feel more relaxed, and I know we could all use a little more of that 😉  So when I got a request from a client to do a minimalistic Scandinavian dining room project last week I couldn’t wait to get started!

I’ve heard of Scandinavian design, but was curious to learn more about what exactly makes a space Scandinavian style. Before I started digging into this project I did a little Wikipedia research. I learned that this particular design style is characterized by “simplicity, minimalism and functionality”.  Looks like this new project was right in line with what my creative brain had been craving!

Last week I posted the concept board for this project over on instagram and it received a lot of love. So I thought it would be fun to create my own Scandinavian dining room design and today I am sharing the final look with direct sources so that you can recreate this design in your own home all for under $1,800!!!

I hope you are loving this design style as much as I am! If you don’t have any plans for the weekend head over to IKEA. The Scandinavia movement started in Sweden which is where Ikea is from, so their store is packed full of affordable Scandinavian home decor!

Room Repeat: Airy Mid-century Master Bedroom

Room Repeat: Airy Mid-century Master Bedroom

Welcome to the Room Repeat Series! Once a month I’ll be choosing a space from one of my favorite designers and sourcing similar products seen in the design so that you can easily recreate the look in your own home. And as always, my goal is to source affordable items so that you can create a space in your home you’re proud of without having to break the bank 🙂

So for our first Room Repeat I couldn’t wait to share this master bedroom space by Lindye Galloway! She is one of my FAVORITE designers and has an Instagram feed packed full of beautiful spaces. It’s not wonder this master bedroom design of hers is one of the top images clients send me to use as inspiration for their e-design projects.

The first thing that draws me in is how light and airy this room is. The light gray walls paired with the medium wood bed creates the perfect mix of cool and warm tones. I love how the shag rug creates a soft place to land your feet when you get out of bed in the morning and frames the bed really nicely.

The midcentury brass chandelier creates a really fun statement and accents the gold nightstands. The nightstands have glass shelves so they help keep that airy feel in the room. And how about that abstract wall art?! I love how these pieces add a bold pop to the room and accent the black and white mud cloth pillows perfectly.

I’m just in LOVE with this whole room and hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Now let me show you how you can Repeat this look for your own home!

I hope you guys found this room inspiring! Comment below and tell me what room I should do for the next Room Repeat post. And as always, if you need help turning a room in your house into a space you’re proud of, I’d love to be apart of your next project! You can check out my e-design packages HERE.

Have a great weekend friends!
