Favorite Target Home Decor Items

It’s TARGET THURSDAY! Not sure if anyone has made that a thing yet, but in my book Target totally deserves its own day, a day where I get to share all of my favorite Target home decor Items with you! What I love about Target is that they have several different home collections with their own distinct styles, yet they all work together really well so there are endless opportunities to update your home on a budget.

I often like to go to my local store with a Starbucks macchiato and walk down the home section to see things in person. I like being able to feel the textures and see the true colors of everything in the store, but I will say that their online store has as much larger selection. They provide free shipping if you spend more than $35 (FREE with a Red Card), you can return online items in store, and you can always save 5% with your Red Card. So shopping online with Target is one of my favorite things to do, especially for e-design clients!

Now onto the good stuff!! Below is a shoppable image that links directly to all my favorite items so you can easily shop them for your own home. Just hover over the item you like and it will direct you to that item’s page.

What are your favorite Target Home Decor Items?! Comment below and let me know. I’m really loving their newer selection of pillows, and they even have removable cover options finally!! I may just have to swipe some up for my living room sofa.

8 Ways To Refresh Your Home In The New Year

Hi friends, happy 2018! The Christmas season is officially over and we are full on into the New Year. I don’t know about you, but as soon as we hit December 26th I am SO ready to declutter, clean out, and create a fresh start in our home. It’s easy for our interior spaces to start feeling a little dull after the excitement of the holiday season, especially if you live in a location where winters are colder and you’re forced to spend more time indoors. So today I wanted to share 8 ways to refresh your home in the New Year!

1. Take down all Christmas Decorations

I love putting Chrsitmas decorations up, but not as much as I love taking them down! (I promise I’m not a grinch!) Clearing out all the “stuff” means less clutter and will provide a clean slate for any updates you want to do.

2. Switch Out Decorative Pillows

Switching out decorative throw pillows is an easy way to update a room. Introduce some new patterns or color palettes and you’ve got a whole new look!

3. Update Picture Frames

You know all those picture frames with family photos you have around your house? Swap out the pictures for recent photos of your travels, family events, or memories that make you smile. You can also try moving table top picture frames to different rooms to give them new life.

4. Rearrange Home Accessories

Switch up home accessories by moving them to a new location, or create new combinations of items. The best part is that you don’t need to spend a single penny and can use items you may already have!

5. New Furniture Placement

Changing the furniture arrangement in my bedroom was one of my favorite things to do growing up. It made me feel like I had a whole new space to spend my time in even though I was in the same 4 walls. Try rotating your sofa in a new direction, set up a reading corner with one of your favorite chairs, or moving your bed to a different wall in your bedroom if you have the space. 6. Give a Room a Fresh Coat of Paint

Grab a can of paint, a paint brush, and get to it! Painting a room a new color is one of the most affordable ways to completely transform a room. Go bold for added drama, or light and bright to offset the winter blues.

7. DIY a Piece of Furniture

Revamp that thrift store find or family heirloom you’ve been meaning to get to. Try  giving it a fresh coat of paint, reupholstering, or applying overlay trim work. Check out some of my favorite DIY furniture makeovers to get some inspiration.

8. Switch Out Cabinet Hardware

By simply switching out your cabinet hardware in your kitchen or bathrooms, you can create a whole new look in just a few short hours. This is also one of my favorite ways to personalize your home if you are renting.

That sums up my 8 tips to help you refresh your home for the New Year. I’d love to hear some of your ideas as well! Leave a comment below or chime in over on Instagram.
