10 Ideas for Small Home Offices

10 Ideas for Small Home Offices

Hey Friends! Today I wanted to share 10 Ideas for Small Home Offices. Apartment living can be challenging when it comes to finding the proper furniture pieces that have the right scale and functionality. Earlier this year my husband Jacob and I both transitioned into working from home. It’s been a little bit of an adjustment for us, especially with living in a one bedroom apartment. We have a desk in our dining area for Jacob to work at, and I usually work from the sofa. As much as I love working from the sofa with our pup next to me, it’s not the most productive spot for me to get my work done.

We’ve come up with a plan to set up a another desk area in our bedroom so that the two of us can have our own little space to work. I am on the hunt to find a solution for us to create a small work space. Something that won’t take up too much room or look to bulky in our little apartment bedroom. Here’s 10 inspiration photos that have some great ideas for small work spaces!

Patio Design with Target Outdoor Furniture

Patio Design with Target Outdoor Furniture

Target Patio Furniture

Hi Friends! Today I wanted to share a Patio Design with Target Outdoor Furniture. I’m with the rest of the “basic” crowd who loves their Target runs. Every week I get our groceries from a Super Target and have to keep my blinders on so I don’t start wandering aimlessly through the isles looking at all the pretty things I have no reason to buy at the moment. Instead I go home and shop from Target for my clients! It’s hands down one of my go to places for everything home because they have on trend products that are affordable for any budget. So once a month I’ll be posting some of my favorite products and give you some ideas on how to incorporate them into your own home. So let’s pretend we have a Starbucks coffee in hand and are walking the isles of Target together 🙂

Since it’s officially Summer, I wanted to do a post on Target patio furniture and outdoor living. It’s that time of year when everyone starts to move outside to enjoy the longer days. Give me a comfy outdoor chair, a La Croix, and my laptop and I’ll work outside ALL DAY! I currently live in a apartment with a small deck, and while I’m more than grateful to have our little outdoor space, I can’t help but dream about when we will have our own backyard and patio some day filled with comfy outdoor lounge furniture, palm plants, garden lights, and endless amounts of sweet tea. I love how Target has soooo many options for outdoor furniture and accessories to help pull your space together. Here’s a little inspiration to help you get a head start on revamping your outdoor living space!

It’s Official!

It’s Official!

Over the past few months I have been working on coming up with a game plan on how I can serve others by using my design background. Since I was an undergrad, I’ve always loved the idea of starting my own business, but I let fear and doubt get the best of me. It wasn’t until the beginning of this year that my perspective on what I wanted my life to look like really changed.<!–more–>

My family and I went through a really rough season last year when my husband Jacob was severely sick with Ulcerative Colitis. We experienced several trips in and out of the hospital, tried countless different treatment plans, and went through complications with surgery that turned our world upside down. It was one of the most challenging times of our lives. Fast forward 7 months later and it is by the grace of God that he is now completely healthy.

It was walking through that tough season that helped me to gain a better appreciation for this life that we are given. I started to reflect on areas of my life in a new way and realized that I no longer wanted to become complacent with things in my life that weren’t 100% fulfilling. I wanted to travel and have new experiences. I wanted to enjoy the little moments more often and stop taking them for granted. And I wanted to pursue new things that were only “ideas” to me because of my fear of failure or feeling inadequate. So here I am a few months later, turning this idea of owning my own business into a reality. I know you’re probably thinking, “Taylor, this has nothing to do with design”, but I wanted to start by sharing my heart with you on why I finally decided to pursue this thing.

Ok now onto the fun stuff…Design! I first heard of virtual interior design (e-design) right after I graduated with my design degree. I thought, “This is such a genius idea! You’re telling me I can design for people by working from home and shopping online at my favorite stores all day?! Sign me up!!” I immediately knew it was something I wanted to do some day. It was around the same time that Jacob and I got married, and I couldn’t wait to make my Instagram and Pinterest #housegoals come to life in our first home together! Then I was faced with the harsh #adulting reality that we had school loan payments quickly approaching…WORST.THING.EVER! So I got to work sourcing the internet for budget-friendly furniture and decor that was a reflection of our personalities and functioned well for our lifestyle. Basically doing an e-design for our own home 🙂 Since then I’ve wanted to serve other millennials like myself by helping them make their first apartment or house a place that they could call home, and all without spending thousands of dollars. I truly believe you can turn your dream home into reality one Target find at a time!

So that’s my story in a nutshell. Thank you so much for stopping by and supporting me along this entrepreneurial journey. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for it, and to share every step of the way with you guys. I hope you stick around for a little while and check out my new site, and if you’re looking for help around your home, I’m your girl!
